This disclosure came with an additional announcement that Attorney General John Ashcroft has recused himself from the criminal investigation of Enron because of contributions he's received from company executives.

They then privatized the investments of the University by creating an entity called the University of Texas Investment Management Company -- or "UTIMCO" -- so that its workings were not subject to open meeting laws.
